In summer 2005, the FC OAMI learned about the existence of a very prestigious tournament, called Soccer Summit. Founded two years earlier by lawyers from the Barcelona based law firm Durán-Corretjer, the Lisbon based law firm J.Perieria da Cruz and the Rome based law firm Società Italiana Brevetti as well as the Cologne/Leverkusen based FC Asphalthoppers.

Then OHIM Vice-President Alexander von Mühlendahl made the contacts, and David T. Keeling started with the organization of a team. A team went up to Barcelona in October 2005; how did it end? Who knows – does it count? No! IPS Summits are like the Olympics – participation counts, not the results.

In 2013, the FC OAMI won the IPS Summit for the first time. Surprisingly, the FC OAMI is now one of the strongest teams with 5 titles in the past 8 editions. The FC OAMI won the IPS Summit three times in a row (2016, 2017 & 2018) and again in 2023.
